The Newsome House Museum and Cultural Center is the restored home of J. Thomas Newsome, a prominent African American attorney. Today the house features a pernament exhibit detailing this man's life, as well as changing art exhibitions. Tours available upon request.

The James A. Fields House
The James A.Fields House was built in the early 1800's and is the site of the first black hospital in the city of Newport News. It is Italianate architecture and open to the public for tours, Tuesday-Saturday, 11am-4pm.
